Ernesto Chavana, 58, apologized to Isabella Rojas after kicking a drone into her face during a live broadcast of the Mexican variety show 'the Es Show' earlier this week. The incident occurred while Chavana was addressing the studio audience. He struck a low-flying drone with his foot, sending it across the set with its propellers still spinning. The device collided directly with Rojas's face. Production staff immediately removed her from the stage in tears. Chavana continued to host the remainder of the episode without interruption.
Upon her return, Chavana acknowledged the error. He stated, 'I am very sorry. I take responsibility for what just happened.' Rojas later posted a video to her Instagram account showing her cut lip to Chavana. The caption for the post read, 'Chavana will be held responsible for what happened.' The production team has not released further details regarding specific disciplinary actions against the host.
The clip has spread widely across social media, generating mixed reactions from viewers. Critics on X expressed shock at the host's behavior. One user, MJB, wrote, 'I do not know who he is, but what a disgusting person, he should not be the host of a show; he should pay for the moral and physical damages.' Another user, @Javier_H_F, noted that the blades could have gouged out one of the model's eyes. They added that the incident risks leaving a scar on her face, which is part of her stock-in-trade.
Supporters on Instagram offered a more lenient view. Diego Tavares defended Chavana by writing, 'Leave Chavana. It was an accident; he already admitted his fault; he never did it with the intention of hitting [her].'
