Jammu and Kashmir Police have tightened security in Srinagar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit starting Thursday. According to IGP Kashmir Zone Vidhi Kumar Birdi, a comprehensive multi-tier security arrangement has been established to ensure safety during the visit.
Drone restrictions implemented
On Tuesday, Srinagar police declared the city a 'Temporary Red Zone' for the operation of drones and quadcopters. Unauthorised drone operations in this zone will face penalties under the Drone Rules, 2021.
Inauguration and development projects
Prime Minister Modi will arrive in Srinagar on Thursday and participate in the 'Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K' event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) at around 6 pm. He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects and launch the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP).
International Yoga Day event
On Friday, June 21, PM Modi will participate in the 10th International Day of Yoga event at SKICC. He will address the gathering and join the CYP Yoga session, highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting health and wellness.
