Pelham residents can buy a pre-filled Thanksgiving box for $79 to support local families in need.

The annual Thanksgiving in a Box program asks neighbors to assemble grocery packages for households of six to eight people. Each box contains ingredients for a holiday meal plus other food essentials. The initiative targets families that could use a helping hand during the holiday season.

Participants have two options for obtaining a box. They can pick up an empty container and fill it using a provided shopping list. Alternatively, they can call 914.636.2208 to arrange for Manor Market to prepare the box for them. The cost for the prepared option is $79.

Empty boxes are currently available at five locations. These sites include Huguenot Memorial Church, Pelham Jewish Center, Our Lady of Perpetual Help-St. Catharine’s, Christ Church, and Pelham Community Church. Residents may choose any of these venues to collect their materials.

Completed boxes must be delivered to Huguenot Memorial Church at 901 Pelhamdale Avenue. The drop-off window opens on November 21 and closes on November 24. Accepted delivery times are between 9 AM and 5 PM each day.

The program also seeks volunteers to help receive and deliver the packages. Individuals interested in assisting or learning more can email PelhamTIAB@gmail.com. The event is organized by Huguenot Memorial Church.
