The body of 10-year-old Jalayshia Allford was discovered overnight inside a vehicle at the Stonington Court Apartments in Lindenwold, Camden County. She had been missing for more than a week before police located her in the car.

Jalayshia was last seen on Oct. 26 at a residence on the 500 block of North Simpson Street in Philadelphia. At the time, she was living with her foster family. Investigators are currently reviewing conflicting accounts provided by adults connected to the case.

Police previously noted that the child may be at special risk of harm or injury. Her biological father, Nazir Allford, told reporters on Wednesday that he is struggling to cope with the uncertainty surrounding his daughter's whereabouts.

"All I'm concerned with is my child. I'm not concerned about nothing else," Allford said. Other relatives expressed frustration over a lack of answers during the search.

Nyfisha Allford, Jalayshia's aunt, said the family is enduring intense pain due to the unknown. "It's really so much pain in not knowing," she stated. Nafis Horne, Jalayshia's uncle, defended the father's relationship with his daughter.

"He loved his daughter. His daughter loved him. We're vouching for that as a family because we know that," Horne said. Court records indicate Allford previously pleaded guilty to charges related to interference with child custody. Family members asked the foster parent to speak to the news to provide clarity.
