The kickoff time is set for one of the Big Ten's best-known in-state rivalries. According to sources, Michigan and Michigan State will begin their annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, with the game streaming on Peacock.

The Wolverines will welcome the Spartans to Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, where the Paul Bunyan Trophy will once again be on the line. The rivalry returns to Michigan's home field, and Michigan State will try to take the trophy back from its rival there.

Michigan arrives at rivalry week after a tight road win. The Wolverines edged the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 28-21 on Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31, at SHI Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey. Following the victory, Michigan players said they would take time to celebrate before turning their attention to the Spartans.

The Wolverines have controlled the recent series. Michigan beat Michigan State 31-20 in East Lansing in 2025, which was its fourth consecutive win in the rivalry. A victory on Nov. 7 would give Michigan five straight over the Spartans.

That would be a milestone of its own. Michigan has not won five in a row against Michigan State since a six-game winning streak that ran from 2002 through 2007.

The historical record also favors the Wolverines. Michigan leads the all-time series 75-38-5 through 118 meetings. In games played for the Paul Bunyan Trophy, Michigan holds a 42-29-2 edge through 73 matchups.

For Michigan, the aim is to extend its winning streak and keep the trophy in Ann Arbor. For Michigan State, the week offers a chance to end that run and reclaim the trophy on its rival's home field. With the night kickoff now set, attention in both programs shifts to a game that carries state bragging rights as well as a trophy.
