Apple has begun rolling out the 27.2 versions of its operating systems, covering iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS. The release centers on Siri AI, with smaller additions elsewhere in the software lineup.

On the iPhone, iOS 27.2 gives Siri a memory feature that lets it recall past conversations and refer back to them in later chats. The assistant can also draw on more data sources when it answers questions, including voicemails and Messages attachments.

Apple is pairing that expanded reach with a new control called Excluded Apps. It lets users choose which apps Siri, Search and suggestions are allowed to access. Siri AI is also now available in five more languages besides English: French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, as Apple announced earlier. The feature remains unavailable in Europe and mainland China.

Siri AI support on iOS covers all iPhone 16 models and later, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Other changes in iOS 27.2 include context-aware suggestions in Messages, such as turning a message that invites you to an event into a calendar entry. Photos gains support for SynthID watermarking, and the Apple TV app now supports user profiles. The update also introduces new Apple Music branding and delivers the previously promised Apple Pencil support on the iPhone Duo foldable.

The macOS Golden Gate 27.2 update shares several of these features, including contextual memory for Siri and the added Siri AI languages. It also includes bug fixes that Apple did not specify. The Apple Watch update follows a similar pattern, with mostly Siri-related improvements, while visionOS 27.2 adds the new languages and the updated Music icon.

Beta versions of macOS 27.2 had already hinted at something further. They contained references to new gesture recognition capabilities in apps such as Photos, Notes and Safari. Those references may be tied to unconfirmed reports of touch support on the next MacBook Pro refresh, which could be revealed at a scheduled public briefing this Wednesday.
