City College Head Coach Joyner joined the Quicksilva Morning Show on 92Q alongside several players to discuss the result. Joyner, a former player at the school, noted that the team made mistakes during the contest. He credited the players for their preparation and execution despite those errors.
The coach specifically pointed to the graduating seniors when discussing the value of the win. He expressed pride in the group's performance against their crosstown rivals.
Defensive back Ethan Gorlison, a member of the Class of 2027, attributed the shutout to the team's commitment on game day. Player Ashton Owens stated that the Knights focused on proving themselves on the field. Owens said the team did not respond to social media criticism.
Senior varsity manager Sydney Collins discussed the work required to reach this point. She highlighted the dedication players showed during summer practices and throughout the school year.
