The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed on November 4 that anti-corruption investigators were conducting searches involving its staff. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office reported a physical confrontation during the raids. A senior SSU official allegedly threatened to use a firearm and blocked detectives from entering specific premises.

Ukrainska Pravda identified the official involved as General Serhii Duka. The SSU press service stated that it is cooperating with investigators. The agency supported an objective and impartial investigation into the criminal proceedings. It did not comment on the reported threat or the obstruction of the search teams.

The searches were conducted under court orders from the High Anti-Corruption Court. The SSU stated that the investigative actions were part of several distinct criminal cases. NABU and SAPO said their detectives were acting lawfully under the issued warrant.

Sources told Ukrainska Pravda that Anton Kravchuk, head of the SSU’s Main Internal Security Directorate, was also involved in the searches. The SSU confirmed the activity broadly without naming specific individuals in its initial statement. Oleksandr Kovalchuk, First Deputy Head of Directorate D within the Department for the Protection of National Statehood, was also named by the outlet's sources.

The sources described a potential link between the searches and Andrii Osipov, nicknamed “Criminal.” Osipov had previously been detained by NABU and SAPO. The SSU statement acknowledged the searches and its cooperation with authorities but did not address the reported connection to Osipov.

The SSU identified NABU and SAPO as the agencies carrying out the actions that morning. The agency said the investigations were proceeding under relevant court orders. The search teams faced resistance from the senior official while attempting to access the premises.
