The Milwaukee Brewers are one victory away from the first World Series title in franchise history. After defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 on Monday night, the Brewers hold a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. A win in Tuesday's Game 4 would end the season for Milwaukee with a championship.

Robert Gasser started Monday's game and delivered a dominant performance that anchored the bullpen. The offensive outburst erased any doubt about the series momentum. The Rays managed only one run in the loss, marking the third straight game where they have been outscored by Milwaukee.

Neither team has ever won a World Series. The Brewers last competed in the postseason in 1982. The Rays, who won the American League pennant by defeating the Cleveland Guardians, have appeared in the World Series only twice before, losing to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008. This matchup guarantees a first-time champion regardless of the final score.

The path to this moment involved deep runs for both clubs. The Brewers swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in four games to capture the National League pennant. The Rays clinched the American League spot by beating the Guardians in six games. Junior Caminero hit a key home run in Game 6 of that series to secure Tampa Bay's berth.

Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. Eastern time. The game will be broadcast on Fox, Fox Deportes, and fubo. The series will return to Milwaukee for Game 5 on Wednesday if it reaches that point. Games 6 and 7, if needed, are set for Friday and Saturday, respectively.

The Brewers have won the first two games of this World Series by narrow margins. Game 1 ended 3-2 in Milwaukee's favor, while Game 2 finished 5-4. The blowout in Game 3 was a stark contrast to the close contests that opened the series. The Rays have yet to record a win in the 2026 World Series.

The playoff bracket saw other elimination rounds before the championship series began. The Cleveland Guardians fell to the Rays in the ALCS after leading the White Sox in the divisional round. The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Brewers in the NLCS after advancing past the Atlanta Braves. The San Diego Padres were eliminated by Milwaukee in the divisional series.

Tampa Bay fans will have one last chance to see their team play at home in the World Series if the series goes to Game 5. The Brewers will be the visiting team for that contest. A victory in Milwaukee on Tuesday would conclude the 2026 postseason with a historic first for the franchise.
