The Maryland State Highway Administration will close the I-695 outer loop exit to northbound Harford Road on Friday, November 6, at 8 p.m. The closure is scheduled to last until 8 a.m. on Sunday, November 8. Crews will use the window to install a new underground drainage pipe.
Drivers exiting the outer loop for northbound Harford Road will be detoured to MD 41, also known as Perring Parkway. They will use the MD 41 interchange to access the inner loop of I-695. From there, they will take the exit for northbound Harford Road. The ramp from the outer loop to southbound Harford Road will remain open throughout the weekend.
Lane restrictions will also affect the outer loop between US 1, or Belair Road, and Perring Parkway. One right lane will be closed from Friday at 8 p.m. through Sunday at 8 a.m. The closure will expand to two right lanes from Saturday at 8 p.m. through Sunday at 8 a.m.
The drainage work is part of a larger I-695 project spanning the area between I-70 and MD 43, or White Marsh Boulevard. The project aims to allow part-time use of the highway shoulder during peak travel periods.
The schedule is weather permitting. If the work is not completed this weekend, the closure and detour will move to the next available weekend.
