Jay-Z will perform at the 2027 Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show.

The announcement arrived during the halftime of the Monday Night Football game between the Cowboys and the Eagles on Oct. 27. ABC commentator Scott Van Pelt stated, “It will be Jay-Z in SoFi on [Valentine’s Day].” Analyst Jason Kelce followed by calling the artist the greatest of all time and predicting a strong show based on his stadium-ready hits.

The performance is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The venue serves as the home stadium for the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers. The broadcast will air on ABC and ESPN.

Jay-Z has managed the halftime production through his company Roc Nation since a deal began in 2019. That agreement was renewed in 2024. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he had requested that Jay-Z perform on stage whenever the moment felt right. Goodell expressed excitement for fans to experience the artist's cultural impact.

Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of music and international content, noted that the company has worked closely with Jay-Z for several years. Jimmy Pitaro, ESPN Chairman, cited the artist's 25 Grammy Awards and his status as a cultural force. He confirmed that the set will be showcased across ESPN, ABC, and Disney+ platforms.

Jay-Z joins a list of past headliners that includes Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, and Kendrick Lamar. In February 2026, Bad Bunny performed a 13-minute set at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. His show featured several hits and ended with a message of unity on the stadium screens.

The NFL’s partnership with Roc Nation started after the league’s handling of Colin Kaepernick's protests. Kaepernick, who was effectively forced out of the league for protesting police brutality, said in a September 2026 interview with NBC News that the NFL blackballed him. He noted that the league sought a Black face to help end the protests in a 2017 meeting.
