Baltimore Ravens fans left Orchard Park on Sunday with a 36-10 loss and news that their starting quarterback, Lamar Jackson, is likely out for the season. Jackson injured the thumb on his right hand on the first play of the game. Coach Jesse Minter confirmed the injury could end Jackson's year and that he will undergo surgery.

The injury forced the team to rely on a backup and then an emergency rookie. Tyler Huntley, the starting backup, suffered a toe injury while being sacked and fumbling the ball. He likely will miss the Ravens' next game against Jacksonville on Thursday night. Joe Fagnano, an undrafted rookie from Connecticut, finished the contest in his first NFL appearance.

Fagnano completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and one interception. The Ravens were held to just 144 total yards. Their only score came from a two-yard run by Derrick Henry. The loss drops Baltimore to 4-4, marking their third consecutive defeat.

Buffalo's defense, which had been criticized for allowing high scoring games, played a dominant role. The unit recorded four sacks and forced three turnovers. They also stopped Baltimore on a fourth-down attempt. The Bills had allowed at least 29 points in five of their previous six games.

Buffalo overcame a messy first half to control the second half. After the Ravens narrowed the gap to 16-10 on a field goal by Tyler Loop, the Bills scored touchdowns on three of their first four drives. DJ Moore caught an 11-yard touchdown pass, and Dalton Kincaid added a 23-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.

Josh Allen, the Bills quarterback, threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another score. He finished 21 of 34 for 289 yards with one interception. Allen's performance moved his career wins to 102, placing him third among players through their first nine seasons. Buffalo is now 6-1 and has won nine straight games following its bye week.

The game featured multiple errors from both sides. Five turnovers occurred, with three committed by Baltimore. Loop missed a 34-yard field goal attempt. The Bills were penalized 10 times for 87 yards. James Cook also scored a five-yard rushing touchdown for Buffalo.

Tyler Bass, the Bills kicker, made all three of his field goal attempts, including a 56-yarder. This extends his consecutive successful attempts to 21, breaking the franchise record of 18 set by Rian Lindell in 2007. Bass missed all of last season due to pelvis and groin injuries.

Derrick Henry's touchdown was his 136th from scrimmage, tying Marshall Faulk for fourth all-time in the NFL. The Ravens will host Jacksonville on Thursday night. The Bills will travel to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday, Nov. 9, for a Monday Night Football game.
